Healthy mind, healthy body

Healthy mind, healthy body

A healthy mind is inextricably linked with a healthy body. Absence of any one of these impairs overall well-being. In this case, if neglected, various problems may arise later. This requires raising awareness through constructive discussions. To this end, on October 10, World Mental Health Day, the third and final episode of the mental health program 'Jatne Rakhi Manchithi' was held under the auspices of SKF. Dr. Psychiatrist and sexual health specialist and associate professor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Dr. was the guest in this episode conducted by Tania Alam. Md. Shamsul Ahsan Maqsood. The topic was: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body. The event was broadcast live on Prothom Alo's Facebook page and YouTube channel and SKF's Facebook page. Dr. Md. Shamsul Ahsan Maqsood said that due to the prevalence of Kovid-19, it is not possible to protect physical health and mental health is becoming more difficult. For this we have to take care of not only physical or mental health but also overall health. Because, well-being does not mean just physical or mental well-being. At the same time, physical, mental, spiritual and other parameters. All are considered to be the overall well-being. If a person's mental health is not good, then his physical health will not be good either.

We can usually identify mental illness with two spots. One is a complex mental illness. In this situation, many people hear the voice of the unseen in their ears, remain skeptical, vandalize or fight again, or think that everyone will harm him. Another type of mental illness is minor mental illness; For example, many people are afraid to go out of the house due to hyperthyroidism. This includes interrupting normal activities for fear of being attacked by oneself or family members. Again, any kind of drug addiction also includes mental illness. On the other hand, neglect or harassment in the workplace reduces efficiency and impairs mental capacity. Again, many are emotionally disturbed by the news of any untoward incident. Now that is in the news of rape.

The normal life that people lived 20 years ago is not happening now; Instead, they are living with a lot of mental and physical stress. With the urbanization, the mental stress is also increasing. We dream of a society where no one will be treated unfairly. If people are deprived of benefits as a result of evaluating good deeds and punishing bad deeds, then just as injustice will be removed, so will the stress of not having any obstruction in normal activities.

When people are under a lot of stress, we recommend relaxation or light exercise. Some behaviors or violence should not be seen in children. Something that hurts their tender minds cannot be shown, as children can often become mentally ill after watching brutal killings on TV or on the Internet. However, the family should understand the mental state of the child and present the good and bad aspects beautifully. And since children love to imitate, they need to be well-educated through good deeds and good behavior. Drugs are consuming the young society of our country. Most of the young children are addicted to drugs out of curiosity and later become addicted to it. Many people become addicted even after falling in the company of friends. One of the reasons they are addicted to drugs is that they like the stimuli that are created in the brain as a result of drugs. Later, when he became addicted to drugs, he developed various physical ailments and instability until he took drugs. When someone is addicted to drugs, their brain releases a chemical called dopamine and they behave in a way that is harmful to society. On the other hand, when someone is climbing a mountain, the same dopamine is released in his brain, but then it is healthy. So I advise to adopt this method through the campaign. For this, to keep the youth away from drugs, it is necessary to make arrangements to do gym and cycling or to be engaged in mountaineering or trekking. When a person suffers from depression, he recovers with timely treatment. Negligence, on the other hand, can lead to serious harm, such as excessive depression leading many to commit suicide. Studies have shown that most of those who have committed suicide have tried suicide before and come to the doctor. So if someone has suicidal tendencies, then their psychiatric evaluation is very important.
