The United States has something for us to learn: CEC

Boss Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda stated, "The United States can't include votes in 4 to 5 days.We count in 4 to 5 minutes. We have learning from the United States. We also have to learn from the good aspects of the United States, ”the CEC told reporters after casting its vote in the Dhaka-17 by-election on Thursday. Today, besides Dhaka-17 parliamentary seat, by-election is also being held in Sirajganj-1 constituency. EVM voting is taking place in both the seats. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday asked the administration and the Election Commission to gain from the US official political decision. Today, the chief election commissioner claimed that the United States has a lot to learn. CEC Nurul Huda is a voter of Dhaka-17 parliamentary constituency. He cast his vote at the IES School and College Center in Sector 5, Uttara at around 12:15 pm today. Awami League candidate Mohammad Habib Hasan cast his vote at the same center at around 10 am before CEC Nurul Huda.

After casting his vote, the CEC told reporters that the election management was in order. There were no irregularities anywhere. CEC Nurul Huda said he did not know the reason for the low voter turnout. In this context, he said, there could be many equations for less voters. Experts can analyze it. Awami League's Mohammad Habib Hasan and BNP's SM Jahangir Hossain are the main rivals in the Dhaka-18 by-election. Jahangir Hossain complained that the people of Awami League were occupying the center with outsiders. BNP agents are being expelled. On the other hand, Awami League candidate Habib Hasan said that he has visited several centers. No untoward incident happened anywhere. Regarding the allegations of BNP candidate Jahangir Hossain in Dhaka-17 constituency, the CEC said, his allegations are not true. A BNP member called at 9:30 am and said he would bring the complaint. So he went to the office earlier without voting. Although he waited in the office till 11 pm, no one from BNP brought any complaint.
